Foreign trade in Ruian improved month by month, by the end of 2009 it showed growth in adversity situation, particularly in November and December the growth rate hit 17.32% and 34.9% respectively, among them footwear exports were valued at $281 million in 2009, but exports for luggage and bags saw a 6.25% slump to $101 million. this is reported by Ruian customs.
