Nantong city has over 70 foreign orientated footwear companies, and footwear made in Nantong city includes four categories that are leather shoes, sports shoes indoor shoes and rubber shoes. Footwear export grew 16.65% to 62.2338 million pairs and 2.28% growth in value to 169.0738 million U.S. dollars in previous year. They were mainly sold to Japan, America and EU states and other regions.
The industrial analyst said the reason for export rising is the positive action taken by shoemakers to expand market in EU and Japan, but adding that weakness in trade outlet restrains the saying on sale price negotiation.
