It's a challenge to make a perfect match of crystal and leather. But designers Frankie Xie and Shiatzy Chen have treated the mix as an opportunity for innovation, both in terms of design and also technology. And the results are used to decorate accessories from collars and belts to bags and shoes. Designer Shiatzy Chen said, "The silk road is my inspiration. For me, fur and leather are a little bit dry. So when crystal is mixed, there is a balance. I want to make some kind of a breakthrough regarding the mixing of these two elements. Crystal comes in a variety of shapes. It's hard to design and cut. But if you make the right choice, you can create a fine piece. My collection is suitable for evening parties."

Crystals are usually found in the shallow layers of the earth's crust, at an average depth of one kilometer. Nature can thus offer women the most beautiful items for their own adornment. And these glittering pieces of more than 40 famous fashion designers from around the world provide a chance for viewers to appreciate the beauty of crystal. The exhibition runs in Beijing until Sunday.
