BEIJING, Apr 06, 2009 (AsiaPulse via COMTEX) -- China National Light Industry Council (CNLIC) is working on detailed rules on the light industry booster plan, which is expected to complete in April, according to a source with the association. China approved the light industry booster plan on February 19 this year, aiming at increasing employment and upgrading technologies.
Under the plan, China will expand sales both at home and abroad, promote technological innovation in papermaking, home appliance and plastic manufacturing sectors, energy savings, reduce emissions and strengthen environmental protection, enhance food safety and provide policy guidance. The Ministry of Finance and the State Administration of Taxation announced earlier to lift the export rebate from April 1on 3,800 items to maintain growth, including dozens of light industry items.
The export rebate rate on leather products was raised to 13 per cent, according to the China Leather Industry Association.
Rebate on engineering plastics was raised from five per cent to 13 per cent, except polyoxymethylene products' rebate rate was raised to 11 per cent.
CNLIC has divided the drafting task to related departments at an internal meeting, the source said.
The source held that the rebate raise would play an important role in boosting enterprise confidence.
